There are several things you can do to help prepare the home for
sale. These are a few of the most important ones that require little
out of pocket cost but make a big difference!
-Keep the lawn and landscaping clean, cut, and
looking good. Good curb appeal will bring more buyers in the front
door.
-Check all the light bulbs in your home and replace
any that are not working
-Finish up little projects, touch up painting
mistakes, make sure light switches and outlets all have covers and
work
-Re-paint boldly painted rooms. While the colors may
be appealing to you or your children, bright pink rooms often turn
buyers off
-Remove smells from the home. Cat litter or pet
blankets often trap smells that turn people off, clean bedding and
change litter often.
if your basement has a musty smell consider running a
dehumidifier.
